"Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as your self.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. — Matthew 22:36-40

Stewardship at St. John’s is about deepening our faith and relationship with Jesus Christ by sharing the blessings God has given us. Your donations are the entire source of St John’s income. Your pledge is critical to fulfill St John’s mission, and helps us plan our ministries for the coming year.
The mission of the stewardship committee is to help fulfill the mission of the church, which is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. At St. John’s we have a year-round approach to stewardship:

Spring is our time of discerning God’s call in our lives and answer the call through participation in St. John’s ministries. We meditate and reflect to discover what God is calling us to be. Summer is a time to make deposits in the spiritual, physical, and emotional bank accounts. Strategies include time off, spiritual retreats, quality family time, and physical exercise. Fall is a time for giving thanks for the wonderful abundance God has given us. We give back a portion of those gifts to God in the form of financial contributions to St. John’s, our time, and our talents. Winter stewardship focuses on our future and our legacy. We review our affairs to make sure our estate plans reflect the values and passions of our lives. This includes essential final directives such as a will, power of attorney, living will, or medical power of attorney, and instructions for family. It also includes planned giving to St. John’s and other organizations.
