For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. — Romans 8.36

For information about participating in any of our ensembles, please contact Music Director Tom Morgan: tom@mrgn.us
Our adult choir is recognized as one of the finest church choirs in the region and provides musical leadership for worship services throughout the year. The ensemble is composed of 24-30 choral musicians, and rehearses on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m., and then also following the 10:00 a.m. service. The Choir recorded and released a CD in 2001 (Light Divine, some audio samples can be found on this site). The choir occasionally performs at funeral and memorial services, and in concert outside of our usual service work.
Our children's choir is open to elementary school-age kids ranging from kindergarten through 5th grade. The purpose of the St. John’s Choristers is to share great music to the glory of God, and to guide children in developing musical skills. In our activities, we strive to maintain a balance of LEARNING (musical concepts, singing skills, learning about the role of music in worship, etc.), ENJOYMENT (fun activities), and SERVICE (performing for the Family Sunday services throughout the school year). The Choristers rehearse on Wednesday evenings, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., in the choir room and in the sanctuary.
The Schola Cantorum is a small ensemble dedicated to the study and singing of Gregorian Chant. With musical instruction from Tom Morgan (and occasionally from local musicologists), this ensemble continues to learn to sing these ancient melodies from the beautiful notation system developed in the Middle Ages. A unique combination of music and meditation, our Schola is open to all, to participate or just to listen. The Schola current meets on Wednesdays, at noon.
