Cursillo originated in the Spanish Roman Catholic Church. It was introduced into the Episcopal Church in the 1970’s by teams from the Roman Catholic Church and has continued to grow. Colorado has an active Cursillo community. The goal of Cursillo is the goal of the church: to restore all people to unity with God and with each other through Jesus Christ.
Cursillo utilizes a specific strategy to achieve its goal.Those who are living an active Christian life might wish to strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ by participating in the Cursillo three-day weekend which offers a time of renewal, refreshment and recommitment. Continuing participation in the Cursillo community consists of small and large group reunions and spiritual direction to live out one’s Baptismal covenant.
