Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. Vacation Bible School
VBS will be July 14-18, 2008 from 9:00-11:45 a.m. Registration deadline: June 24.
St. John’s offers a one-week Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children who are entering kindergarten through fourth grade the following fall. Youth helpers, grades 5 and up, are an important part of VBS, and it couldn’t happen without lots of adult volunteers too.
This year we’re creating an original program! We’ve enjoyed travelling back in time to the Holy Lands the past few summers. Again this year, we’ll set up a Middle Eastern marketplace in the Parish Hall. For our theme, we’ll focus on stories about Moses, like his early adventure in a basket in the bulrushes, his leading the Israelites out of Egypt through walls of water and his encounter with a burning bush in the desert. Our kids will get up close and personal with the Ten Commandments (and time-travel to the “future,” to hear what Jesus had to say about them!).
