Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. — 1 Corinthians 12.4-7

St. John's Caribbean, Haiti and Cuba Outreach

St. John’s has a sister relationship with San Juan Evangelista, a small Episcopal church in Vertientes, Cuba. We take small groups to visit this church and other Episcopal churches in Havana and in the province of Camaguey. We also host visiting priests from Cuba, providing an opportunity for churches around our Diocese to learn about the Episcopal church in Cuba. Our intention is to build bridges of communication between Cuba and the U.S. and to share the love of Christ with our Cuban sisters and brothers.

St. John’s has been a part of the Colorado Haiti Project, Inc. since 1994 and currently hosts the administrative office for this Diocesan wide project. Each year CHP coordinates mission trips and insight visits to Haiti. The primary focus of CHP is in Petit trou de Nippes where, together with the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti, they help support St. Paul’s Mission which includes a church, a primary school with 600 students and a Women’s Resource Center. For more information about CHP, please visit this site.
