Coffee and refreshments are served in the parish hall after the 10 a.m. service on Sundays.
St. John's hosts a Soup Kitchen on the first Sunday of each month. It is a ministry primarily for our brothers and sisters in need. Volunteers, including teenagers and older children, help prepare, serve, and clean up. On occasion others from the Boulder community, including students from the University of Colorado, also assist in this ministry.
On the first Sunday of every month throughout the year, our 10 a.m. church service focuses on the family for a more child-and youth- friendly service. Children and youth help lead this service.
St. John's children re-enact the annunciation and birth story from scripture the Sunday before Christmas Day. This long standing tradition is a moving experience for all ages.

Each January, we celebrate our patronal feast day, honoring St. John by reflecting upon his life and how it affects our lives together in Christ.
Young and old are invited to reflect upon the life and Christian journey of Martin Luther King Jr.
On Wednesdays during Lent, we gather for Evensong in the chapel and then move to the parish hall for Holy Eucharist and a meal of bread and soup. Following this is the presentation and small group activity suitable for all.
This major holiday of the church year celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit to the church. In past years, we have gathered on the grounds following this service for a picnic and fellowship.
Each fall, displays featuring all the ministry and faith formation opportunities at St. John's are set up in the parish hall, and members are available to answer questions about each one.
Bring your pets (live or toy) to a service to commemorate St. Francis' love for all creation. We ask that pets be on leashes. Every pet will receive an individual blessing from one of the clergy, and a St. Francis medallion. We ask that anyone planning on bringing a large animal, such as an elephant, contact the office!
On this special day we remember special saints in our lives who are no longer with us. Families connect with other families and learn about St. John's parishioners who have gone to their greater glory.
Kirkin' means 'churching of the tartan,' and here at St. John's it is a day of celebrating family and community. Complete with bagpipes, Irish dancing, shortbread and soda bread, it is an exciting and fun day. Be sure to bring a favorite tartan to be blessed. Many talented artists make St. John's their home, and following the service, artists are invited to make their works available for sale.
