Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. — 1 Corinthians 12.4-7
St. John’s Outdoor Ministries is an active ministry where people who love nature and God get together and do what they love most. Outdoor ministries activities are for people to grow in their spiritual connection to God through nature and they go to many remote woods, mountains, and deserts in the west. This ministry is just getting started and may include many other great outdoor adventures!
Meeting on the first Saturday of the month, everyone interested in exploring their spiritual connection to the natural world is welcome. We’ll get together at St. John's at 10am and carpool to the trailhead. Please bring a sack lunch. If your usual hiking buddy is a canine, please plan another hike for him/her as these hikes are focused specifically on the hiker's spiritual relationship to nature.
There are three Faith in the Wilderness trips (3-5 days) scheduled. The first trip in the spring (April) to the desert then we’ll do one in the summer (July), which will be a high mountain adventure, and also there will be one in the fall (September).
