On the first Sunday of each month, St. John's provides a variety of free services for those in our Boulder community who are homeless, who cannot provide for their own basic needs, who struggle to make ends meet, who lack access to basic health and hygiene services. Each month we minister to 120-140 people in the following ways:
* We serve a nutritious hot lunch and distribute sack lunches to go. Our meals are prepared from scratch by Chef Carlos Ortega Gonzales.
* St. Benedict's Health and Healing with a staff of a doctor, nurses, and a physical therapist conducts health interviews and screenings, administers blood pressure, diabetes and HIV tests, assists with prescriptions and medications, makes referrals to other medical providers.
* Dora, a St. John's parishioner and professional hair stylist, gives haircuts.
* Clergy are available for individual prayer and counseling.
* We distribute clothing and hygiene kits several times a year.
