Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. — 1 Corinthians 12.4-7

Mission Trip to Windsor, Colorado
Mission trips are a very important part of our youth experience. These trips
allow us to begin or continue to think beyond ourselves but more importantly
they allow us to help others by doing something for them or giving them
something. There is huge value in having a global perspective. It allows
young people to totally appreciate their life and also challenges them to
think hard about the issues in our world and the ways they can help other
people. These experiences shake our reality and make us question our own
lifestyles. In the past several years we've traveled to New York, South
Dakota, Wyoming, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Utah, Haiti, Colorado and we will continue to do mission work all over the United States and the World. The high school mission trip last summer was originally planning to take us to Juarez, Mexico to build homes for families there. High violence in Mexico caused us to cancel the initial trip and led us to an opportunity in the tornado devastated town of Windsor, Colorado. With St. Mary Magdalene Church (Gunbarrel) nearly 70 of us re-roofed three houses, rebuilt four fences, and filled dozens of trucks with debris. Last year took us to Petit Trou de Nippes, Haiti and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Each trip offers completely unexpected experiences. That trip was in connection with the Colorado Haiti Project. It indeed was an opportunity to experience a world of beauty and need, and to help people who might not be able to help themselves. The first middle school urban mission experience was in July 2008. It was for 7th and 8th graders interested in helping in the urban parts of Denver. We had a great time helping people and learning about life poverty and homelessness in urban America.

Ski Trip to Crested Butte, 2009
We went to Crested Butte and received tidings from the high mountains! This was yet another epic year of skiing and snowboarding in some of the most rugged ski terrain in America. It was so good having many of you join us this year. The group continues to grow and the snow gets deeper each year. The ski and board adventure is always a great opportunity to get connected to the youth ministry opportunities. If you weren’t able to come this year, there is always next year! For those of you who did go… we challenge you to take the next step in finding ways to share your lives with others in the youth program!

Backpacking, July, 2008
These are youth activities throughout the year that take us on all kinds of adventures. And talk about exciting! If you are active, interested in the outdoors, or getting out to see a world of creation, this is for you! We go bouldering, playing Ultimate Frisbee, biking through canyons, climbing 14ers, whitewater rafting, backpacking and more. We want to see you there if you are grades 6-12… it's for middle and high schoolers!
