Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. — Matthew 27:16-20

WELCOME NEWCOMERS!  We’re glad you’re here! Please fill out a visitor card (located in the pew racks) and put it in the collection plate as it passes by.  For more information about St. John’s, please visit our website, www.stjohnsboulder.org, and feel free to call the church office, 303-442-5246, to make an appointment to visit with one of the clergy.

Welcome home and congratulations to seminary graduate and new transitional deacon, Bruce Swinehart!  We’re all proud of you!!!  Thanks for being with us this morning.

SUMMER SUNDAY SCHEDULE!  During the months of JULY and AUGUST, St. John’s Sunday service times will change to 7:30 a.m. (in the chapel) and 9:30 a.m. (in the church).  This will allow us to beat the heat in the church — and get out to play in the Colorado outdoors an hour earlier!  Mark your calendars now!

The Carriage House Community Table is the recipient of the June loose-plate collection.  If you’d like to write a check, make it out to St. John’s and put “Carriage House” on the memo line.

There are a few copies of the June issue of The Eagle newsletter in the narthex and in the rotunda for those without a computer access.  If you have a computer, please access The Eagle on the St. John’s website, www.stjohnsboulder.org.

Stop by the youth group’s Heavenly Brew coffee cart after the service today for a fresh, hot cup of coffee — or something more exotic.  Our menu includes cappuccino, lattes, espresso, mochas, and hot chocolates.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL UPDATE: 12 parent volunteers are still needed to commit to VBS; in most cases, that means being at St. John’s each morning from July 27th-31st.  Also, VBS registrations are coming in very slowly. It’s a marvelous program, but one that is a huge time investment for our staff, so unless we have 12 additional parent volunteers on board and at least 20 children (K through 4th grade) registered for VBS by the end of June, this year’s program will — unfortunately — be cancelled.  To volunteer, e-mail cathyode@gmail.com.  To register, go to the VBS pageon the St. John’s website.

GOING GREEN!  As of today, our weekly bulletins are shorter, and we’re asking folks to follow the service in The Book of Common Prayer.  If you’re new to the Episcopal Church, please ask your neighbor for help.  And if you remember using the BCP in days of yore, please offer to help someone who looks lost!

MERRITT HESS SEND OFF!  Please plan to join us as we say farewell to youth and young adult ministries director, Merritt Hess, on Sunday, June 14th, at the 10:30 a.m. service in the church.  Afterwards, please join us for a picnic for Merritt at North Boulder Park.  Please bring chairs, a side dish, and outdoor games.  We’ll provide hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, and tableware.
