Family Ministry and Education
for Children and Youth
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." – Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Our faith formation goal at St. John's is to help children of all ages deepen their relationship with God; learn about the love of Jesus Christ; and become active members of the St. John's family, the Episcopal Church, and the greater Christian community. We always welcome input from parents. As their children's first and best teachers, parents have a critical role in faith development. At St. John's, we see ourselves as partners with parents in helping children and youth to develop a strong faith that will sustain them throughout their lives.
We offer a variety of programs on Sundays, along with "milestone programs," extra-curricular activities, family ministry and community building events, and outreach opportunities, that help to form the whole child.
We ask that parents register their children (infants through teenagers) each year so that we can keep our records up to date, but visitors to our programs are always welcome.
