Neighborhood Gatherings

In 2018-2019 we're planning to engage St. John's members who live in a common area (North Boulder, South Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, Louisville, Broomfield, etc...) in some neighborhood activities. This will be a chance to share fellowship or perhaps even a home communion with other parishioners without having to drive all the way to St. John's!

Intergenerational Advent-Wreath Workshop

St. John's Family Ministries sponsors an intergenerational Advent-wreath workshop on the first Sunday in Advent. For a donation of $10, we provide a wreath form, live greens, wire, ribbon, and candles. (The cost is only $5 if you reuse your wreath form!) We work together while listening to Christmas carols and enjoying coffee, hot chocolate, and seasonal treats. Each family also goes home with a book about how to celebrate Advent at home.

Christmas Caroling

St. John's families also gather for caroling on the Saturday before Christmas. We make several stops in nearby neighborhoods and to parish shut-ins. We provide song books – you bring the warm coats, hat, and mittens, and your voices! After caroling, we meet at the home of a parishioner for hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.

Annual Meeting and Potluck

Each year, we convene as a parish family to share a meal, hear reports about the previous year and discuss plans for the upcoming year, approve the budget, and elect new vestry members and wardens (as appropriate).

Lenten Program

Our Lenten Program for 2019 will take place on Sunday mornings following the 9:30 a.m. service.

Eggstravaganza

Eggstravaganza! is a favorite St. John's tradition. Check back soon for specific details about Eggstravaganza 2019!

Graduation Breakfast and Blessing

On the second Sunday of May, we celebrate our high school graduates and their families at a breakfast before the 9:30 a.m. service. That day is also Youth Sunday -- we involve as many of our young people as possible in the service, the youth preach the sermon, and we bless our graduates.

Outdoor Service and Parish Picnic

Our Second Sunday service in June is celebrated outdoors and is followed by a parish potluck picnic.

A tradition established in 2015, is "St. John's Night at the Ballpark" where our families attend a Boulder Collegians baseball game together. Pastor Susan even threw out the first pitch!
