Welcome to St John’s Library, located within the McKeown Conference Room to the east of the chapel. We invite everyone to browse our shelves and/or our online collection. The library is a special collection of printed and non-printed materials offering spiritual and educational resources for the St. John’s community. It also serves to promote spiritual development for individuals, staff, families and ministries provide literature and resources to enhance Christian living.

Our current collection of over  1000 books includes fiction, nonfiction, biographies,  reference materials, audio/video items, and children’s books.

Borrowing Policies

  • Any St. John’s parishioner may check out materials from the library.
  • Library materials should be returned within one month of the original check-out date.
  • To check out a book, complete the borrower’s card located in the front section of each book. Place completed borrower’s card (with name and contact information) in the check-out card stand located on the file cabinet. A borrower’s card needs to be completed for each item borrowed.

Return procedure

Items returned to the library may be placed on the shelf labeled “Return Items”, next to the file cabinet, or to the church office when open. In the event that an item is lost and/or damaged, we would ask that the donor either replace the item at cost or choose an appropriate alternative replacement. This will ensure that the library collection will be maintained and continue to serve its community. Please contact a library volunteer (email:  This email address is being protected from spambots. Our catalog can be browsed online.  You may search by tag (subject assigned to each item), author, or title.  There is also a “List of Books” notebook in the library that includes books listed by author and by title.

Donation Policy

St. John’s library accepts donations of materials with the understanding that the library committee may use their discretion in placement of the material(s).  If the donation is in the form of a gift, a bookplate may be utilized to acknowledge the gift/donation. Please let us know if you would like a bookplate.  Financial donations are also welcome.

Access to the library collection coincides with scheduled office hours of St. John. Unless there are scheduled meetings,  it is also open on Sunday mornings.   Occasionally a library table, staffed by a librarian, is available during coffee hour.  Otherwise, the library is on a self-serve basis.
