Clergy

The Rev. Janine Schenone, Rector

Pastor Janine Schenone grew up in a large Italian Catholic family in the San Francisco Bay Area. After earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English and creative writing, she worked in the software industry for 15 years before moving to Sacramento to teach English at American River College. She walked into an Episcopal church one year later and re-experienced a call to the priesthood that she had first experienced as a child in Catholic churches.

She earned an M.Div at Yale Divinity School and began a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at Fordham University before realizing her true calling is parish ministry. She has previously served as the Theologian in Residence at Christ Church in Bronxville, NY; the Senior Associate for Congregational Development at All Saints Church, Pasadena; and the Rector of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in San Diego, CA.

She loves hiking and cycling, piano playing, reading, films, and rooting for Bay Area teams (while being pastorally supportive of Colorado teams).

The Rev. Kevin Criley, Curate

Deacon Kevin grew up in Castle Rock, Colorado and was raised in the Roman Catholic tradition. He found, or rather the Spirit led him to, The Episcopal Church while he was an undergraduate student at CU-Boulder. He fell in love with the Anglican/Episcopal tradition as he connected with the focus on Grace offered in the Protestant tradition while still having access to the Sacramental Life of the Church. After undergrad he worked as an Acquisition Project Manager for the Federal Government.

He completed his M.Div at the Virginia Theological Seminary in May of 2026. During his time at Seminary had the privilege of serving as the seminarian intern at Christ Church - Alexandria as well as serving as the student body’s Director of Recreation. His favorite seminary moment was helping to lead the Seminary’s Flag Football team to their first Luther Bowl Flag Football tournament victory in almost twenty years. Kevin was ordained a Deacon in May of 2026 and, God willing and the people consenting, will be ordained a Priest in November of 2026.

Theologically, Deacon Kevin is inspired by God’s promises of grace and forgiveness and desires to share that message of God’s Grace as widely as possible. In his free time you can find Kevin skiing, hiking, “golfing”, or watching CU Football. Most of all he enjoys spending time with family, friends, and his wonderful wife, Sarah.
